Fujido was founded to make a very specific dream practical: take the spirit of Yokosuka souvenir jackets and put it into pieces you can actually wear—every day, anywhere.

Our story begins with Ryu Takahashi, born at the foot of Mount Fuji and raised in Yokosuka. As a teen he fell in love with jackets whose backs carried dragons, tigers, Fuji and waves—motifs drawn from ukiyo-e balance and irezumi energy. Years spent between Hawai‘i and, later, Hong Kong sharpened his eye for color, proportion, and what holds up in real life, not just behind glass.

On the ground in Yokosuka we kept seeing the same problem: the most captivating embroidered jackets were expensive, scarce, and hard to get. Beautiful, yes—but locked behind price and rarity. Fujido exists to change that. We build jackets that honor the originals while staying accessible and easy to wear, then ship them worldwide so more people can feel what makes sukajan special.

Our design language is disciplined: minimal palettes, maximal texture. Thread behaves like ink; jackets are the paper. The themes are classic—dragons, tigers, Fuji, waves—but the attitude is contemporary: Tokyo after dark, built to last, meant to be lived in.

Fujido isn’t about collecting—it’s about wearing. If a jacket can travel from weekday commute to night streets and still feel right a year from now, we’ve done our job. And if someone discovering sukajan for the first time can afford to make it theirs, then the culture moves forward—that’s the point.
